Today FOSS-Cloud 0.6.2 was published and is available for downloading.

In comparison with the FOSS-Cloud 0.6.1, the following improvements were made:

• Installer
• DNS-Server IPs are required when choosing a fix IP address during installation.
• Virtual Machines
• No changes.
• Backend
• libvirt an all dependencies have been updated to 0.9.
• QEMU/KVM have been updated.
• VM-Manager
• Bugfix: New users can now be added to the FOSS-Cloud via web browser.
• The functionality cache="writeback" has been set as the default for all VMs.
• The FOSS-Cloud URL can be toggled from IP to a fully qualified domain name.

The FOSS-Cloud offers a redundant infrastructure for the operation of virtual servers and desktops (Linux and Windows).

Tiziano Müller gave a talk at the International SQL-Ledger Network Kick-off Meeting on the topic SQL-Ledger in the Cloud & KVM-Virtualization. He showed up the chances and risks involved while running SQL-Ledger within cloud environments. Furthermore he introduced the possibilities of the KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) virtualization.
